NCI Office of Cancer Centers (OCC) Learning Series

An Overview of the FY 2012 Cancer Clinical Investigator Team Leadership Award Application and Review Process for Prospective Applicants

February 1, 2012 from
2:00 to 3:30 PM ET

Dr. Jennifer Hayes, the NCI Program Director who oversees the Cancer Clinical Investigator Team Leadership Award Program, will present an overview of the FY 2012 program and discuss the application and application review process. The Cancer Clinical Investigator Team Leadership Award is intended to support, acknowledge, and recognize outstanding clinical investigators whose participation and activities promote successful clinical research programs and to promote retention of clinical investigators in an academic career in clinical research. The award supports mid-level clinical investigators (>3 years post-fellowship and board certified in their specialty area) at NCI-designated Cancer Centers who are not currently principal investigators on NIH research grants, leaders of component research projects of Program Project awards, or co-leaders of component research projects of SPORE awards, but who are participating extensively in NCI-funded collaborative clinical trials. The clinical investigator is nominated by their Cancer Center Director and must be currently practicing in the clinical setting and have the potential for leadership of the Cancer Center’s clinical trials.
