Bringing Quantitative Imaging to Cancer Center Clinical Trials:
The NCI's Quantitative Imaging Network (QIN)
October 4th, 2011
2:00 to 3:30 PM EDT
This presentation will address a new NCI initiative, referred to as the Quantitative Imaging Network (QIN). The goal of the program is to develop quantitative methods to predict and measure the response of cancer tumors to therapy using commercial imaging platforms. The investigators in the program are challenged to explore methods to improve data collection and analysis. They are to develop, optimize, and validate software tools useful in the support of clinical decision making. They will make their results and data available as a public resource. The eventual intent of the program is to encourage industry to adopt quantitative software tools and to make them available for clinical trials at cancer centers and other trial locations.
This presentation will provide information regarding the QIN program and demonstrate that it is rapidly becoming a resource for imaging data and metadata that can be leveraged by cancer centers in imaging research.
Additionally, an QIN grantee will share how his involvement with the QIN Network is advancing his research within his Cancer Center.
