The Fred Hutchinson/University of Washington Cancer Consortium
is a research collaboration formed by the Fred Hutchinson
Cancer Research Center - a National Cancer Institute-designated
comprehensive cancer
center since 1976 - and its collaborators, the University
of Washington and Children's Hospital and Regional
Medical Center. While all three
institutions remain independent, the Consortium combines
their strengths to accelerate research progress in
the fight against cancer and to develop
premier research programs across many types of cancer..
With $128 million in NCI funding in 2005, the Consortium
brings together nearly 370 faculty members who are organized into 16
programs and affiliate groups with research interests in basic, clinical,
and public health sciences.
