About OCC

The Office of Cancer Centers (OCC) supports a diverse, nationwide network of NCI-Designated Cancer Centers performing basic laboratory, clinical, and population-based research in cancer. Through the P30 Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG), the OCC funds research infrastructure in centers that meet rigorous standards for transdisciplinary, state-of-the-art research programs focused on developing new and better approaches in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Cancer centers earning the P30 CCSG award also receive the NCI ‘designation’ which recognizes their achievement of these standards and enhances their ability to leverage additional resources for cancer research, education, and care.
